Match Report
Marlborough College Colts 1 vs  Clifton College
On: Saturday, 25 Feb 2017
Venue: at Home

On Saturday the Colts 1st team played local rivals Clifton College in a great game that showed our strengths and weaknesses. We started the first half well grabbing a goal through a great passage of play that ended in Seby scoring a powerful header. Our attacking football was very good, spreading the play and moving the opposition to create space, resulting in a corner for another headed goal by Leo. Marcus put our 3rd of the half past their goalkeeper after giving him the eyes and opening up to slot home at the near post with a cool finish. In the second half we were more lazy but got a boost in spirit when Harry pulled of a stunning penalty stop towards the end of the half after a Redmayne foul in the box. The boost in spirit helped Orlando take a chance that fell to him 3 yards out after good work down the opposition's left side. The final score was 4-1 to Marlborough with the MOTM being shared this week between Harry Wake (GK) and Freddie Coen (CB) who put in a great defensive shift, regularly driving the ball forward from the back. We look to build on Saturday's game in training this week.
