Match Report
Marlborough College Boys-U14B vs  Wellington College
On: Saturday, 15 May 2021
Venue: Away

Well done indeed to the 2nd VI on their victory over Wellington. The 1st pair of Marcus Brebbia (C3) and Alex Williams-Bulkeley (TU), won their sets 6-1, 6-0, 6-4 and displayed great teamwork and competitive play throughout, putting skills from training into action.

Anthony Breeze and Vlad Chusov (both C3) in the 2nd pair were also impressive, winning their first two sets 6-2 and 6-4 and eventually losing their final set by just one point to end 5-6.

Teddy Tidmarsh (C3) and George Marsiaj (C1) built from a tough first set to win their second two sets 6-5 and 6-3, despite having only joined squad training the previous week.

All of this was especially encouraging considering that all but one of the boys had never represented the College before in any competitive fixtures; between this and the sporadic rainfall, they acquitted themselves very well indeed.

I was also generally pleased by the attitude and sportsmanship showed by those boys for whom it was their first time representing the College in a fixture, despite trying and damp conditions.
