Match Report
Marlborough College 3rd X vs  Wilts and Dorset County Tournament
On: Saturday, 09 Oct 2021
Venue: at Home

L 5-4 v Godolphin

This was a very competitive fixture with each team engaged in a game of cat and mouse. Early goals from Jemima Ackerley, Bella Evans and Sio Fluxa-Rodriguez put Marlborough in the lead at half time but we were narrowly beaten despite an impressive top corner shot from Emi Goodman late in the second half. MVP = Bella Evans for her transitional work in the midfield and for stepping up to Captain a new side.

L 2-4

The toughest match of the tournament and a rest test of the girls’ fitness as the ball turned over frequently. The girls’ communication improved as the match progressed and the attack began to gain confidence settling the ball. Goal scorers = Emi Goodman and Sio Fluxa-Rodriguez. MVP = Mattie Cormack for saving multiple on target shots!

W 7-4 vs Marlborough 4ths

It was great fun to finish the tournament with a bit of friendly competition against the 4th X. I was most impressed with how the girls rallied behind one another after conceding two quick goals. They listened to one another at half time and actively began to pass the ball earlier, culminating in a convincing win. Goal scorers = Aleki Jeveons (2), Jasmine Simkins, Polly Wells, Alisa Allin, Bella Evans and Sio Fluxa Rodriguez. MVP = Aleki Jeveons for listening and responding to feedback mid-tournament and for always making space in attack.
