Despite knowing that Westonbirt were a strong team having played them last week, and being low on substitutes, the girls went out with positive mindsets and fought for every ball. Midfield saw some incredible turnovers and it was clear that the girls were actively thinking about movement in attack. The defence did really well 1-on-1 when Westonbirt had the ball in attack, particularly as we were missing a few of our defensive players, and Emily made a huge 8 saves. The beginners on the field stepped up and did an amazing job in their first proper match! We'll continue to work on coming up with the draws and defence staying tight on through transitions to give us that extra competitive edge.
