A fabulous first full match for the U14A team against Westonbirt. Alexis started off trying out goalie and started amazingly, making some consecutive saves with no reservations. In the first quarter, we got a point on to the scoresheet with a goal from Amelie. Eliza, Grace and Ottilie formed good partnerships in the midfield. Sariya was making lovely cuts into space for the ball and Mary was strong in defence. Amelie managed to pull a behind the back shot out of the bag for a second goal in the first half, leaving the score at 2-6 to Westonbirt at half time.

Going in to the second half, the team remained positive and proud of their performance, excited for more. A swap in goalkeeper with Sariya stepping in but she had difficult start as the opposition had clearly warmed up, producing some very powerful shots but Sariya did a brilliant job against some of these. Irene made a wonderful impact in the defence and the team started to pick up the idea of sliding in the defence. Chloe Z had great hustle for ground balls and made a brilliant interception too. 2 more goals from Amelie in the second half leaving the final score 4-13 to Westonbirt.

Such a brilliant first competitive game for the team, who all made great progress regardless of past playing experience.
