Marlborough 1sts got off to a fantastic start, scoring from the first play and proceeding to go 5-1 up by the end of the first quarter. Although playing well, success was largely due to St Mary's slow start and as the match progressed they steadily began to raise their game. From a 7-3 lead in half time, Calne swung momentum their way in the third, driving hard at our defence and showing much greater belief. Frustration began to creep in as thing didn't go our way and Calne won the third quarter 5-1 to go 8-7 ahead. The final 12 minutes were intense, especially as we were 8-11 down with 5 to go. Drawn control had been influential to both teams all match but as we began to regain control (emotionally and physically) we won possession, drew the fouls and equalised in the final minute. Thrilling for the Parents, not so for the coach!
