The match against St Swithuns B team followed a game against St Swithuns C Team, so the Marlborough team were already slightly tired, however raring to go, Marlborough put up an effective defence with an interception from Rosie and Sariya hustling for every ball she could. Marlborough had a few chances in attack but St Swithuns defence and crashing on to the driving player was very good, which meant Marlborough had to keep resetting their attack. The first goal of this match came after half of the game time had elapsed, showing how both sides were fighting for a goal. St Swithuns scored 2 goals first, so Marlborough were giving everything to try and score what they could. A spectacular power shot from Ottilie gave the much needed goal but there wasn’t enough time left on the clock to do anymore.
Special mention to Sariya in this match, who did not stop running and fighting for the ball on the ground showing tenacity and resilience.
