A long but very worthwhile day to build on this newly formed team. With a resounding 8-1 victory in our first match, confidence was high as went on the pitch for our second game against Godolphin. Their fast midfield, created turnovers and stretched us in defence and we went 4-0 down in the first half. However, as we fought harder and began to retain our possession we won the second half 2-0. Keen for a place in the semi-final, we needed to beat St Mary's Calne..and with some of our best passages of play. The defence stepped up with high pressure and the attack strung together some fantastic passing to score some superb goals to go ahead. Calne came back hard but we held on for a 5-4 win. The semi final was against Moreton Hall who had two players who dominated the draw and attack, winning the majority of possession but we improved with every minute finishing 3-5 behind. Our 3rd/4th playoff was a tired and frustrating match where we gave away the ball cheaply and struggled to find our previous rhythm, fluffing our chances and finishing 1-2 to Westonbirt. A very respectable 4th place from the 9 teamed tournament.
