With only a short warm up for the Marlborough players, Downe House started off the game with a couple of quick goals. However, Chloe and Clover lead the defence to some turnovers, and Mira drove up the pitch to score our first goal. Siyona made some critical saves which kept the score to 3-1 at half time. Daisy started off the second half with a fantastic interception and a near miss on goal. Shortly after both Mira and Maya scored from strong drives towards goals. With only one substitute, the girls started to flag in the final minutes of the match, and Downe House scored a couple of quick goals to deny us a win. In the coming weeks, we need to develop an emphasis on passing instead of driving to create quick midfield transitions.
