Playing with no subs and on an Astro, this was a real test of endurance - especially for our midfield. Honor and Maya drove to goal to bring us up to 3-0 in the first quarter. However, St Mary’s came out aggressively in the second quarter, scoring two goals, one of which was disallowed. In the second half, the attack started to create more opportunities from passing round the fan, leading to goals for Eliza, Honor, Imi and Maya. Daisy had some fantastic saves in goal, and was supported by Clover, Grace and Mira and defence who often successfully fended off 5 or 6 St Mary’s attackers. The final score was 8-2, with Mira and Maya MVPs.
